THINK: Think like Jesus during times of suffering - 1 Peter 4:1-2

Since Jesus went through everything you’re going through and more, learn to think like Him. Think of your sufferings as a weaning from that old sinful habit of always expecting to get your own way. Then you’ll be able to live out your days free to pursue what God wants instead of being tyrannized by what you want. 1 Peter 4:1-2

LIVING TRUTH:
"Look, an hour is coming and has already come when you will be scattered, each to his own home, and you will leave Me all alone. Yet I Am not alone, because the Father is with Me. I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take courage; I have overcome the world!” John 16:32-33

Prayer & Praise
In this world, I will face tribulations. But I will take courage because my Lord Jesus Christ has overcome the world! Teach me, Lord Jesus, to be an overcomer by having Your mindset and attitude when I experience times of suffering for doing what God wants, as Peter states in this Holy Scripture. I am deeply thankful for the great suffering You went through for me, allowing Yourself to be tortured and crucified on the cross of death for my sins. Holy Spirit, please remind me that God uses every suffering and pain I experience in life to bring comfort and hope to others who are in pain. Help me to have a rock-solid faith when times of trouble come my way by embracing the mind of Christ. Loving Father, I ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, my Savior. 

BROUGHT: Christ suffered for your sins so He could bring you to God. - 1 Peter 3:18

"For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit." 1 Peter 3:18

Gospel Truth:
“Lord,” said Thomas, “we do not know where You are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus answered, “I Am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:5-6
"I Am the gate. If anyone enters through Me, they will be saved. They will come in and go out and find pasture." John 10:9
"Jesus is the One of whom the scripture says, 'The stone that you the builders despised turned out to be the Cornerstone.' Salvation is to be found through him alone; in all the world there is no one else whom God has given who can save us." Acts 4:11-12

Prayer & Praise:
Abba Father, I bow in reverence to thank You for Christ, the Righteous One, who was willing to suffer for my sins so that through His death, He could bring unrighteous sinners like me back to You. I believe, Lord Jesus, that You alone are the Way back to God. Thank You for bringing back to God through Your mighty work on the cross, which is the only bridge to God and eternal life. I praise, worship, and glorify Your mighty name. Amen.

HOPE: Be ready to explain to everyone the reason for the hope inside you - 1 Peter 3:15

But honor the Messiah as LORD in your hearts. Always be ready to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you. However, do this with gentleness and respect, keeping your conscience clear, so that when you are accused, as those who denounce your Christian life will be put to shame. 1 Peter 3:15-16

Prayer & Praise:
I confess You, Holy Messiah, as LORD of my life. I want to bring honor to Your name today by demonstrating that You live in my heart through my actions and words that reflect Your love, gentleness, and respect. Prepare me today, Holy Spirit, to confidently share the hope that Jesus Christ has given me with a family member, acquaintance, or stranger You bring into my path who feels hopeless and is critical of Christians. I ask this, Father God, in the mighty name of Jesus my Savior.

WATCHED: The LORD watches over you when you do what is right - 1 Peter 3:12

The eyes of the LORD watch over those who do right, and His ears are open to their prayers. But the LORD turns His face against those who do evil.” 1 Peter 3:12

ETERNAL TRUTH:

• "The LORD is near to all who call on Him, to all who call out to Him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cry and saves them." Psalm 145:18-19
• "But to the Son He says, '“Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever. You rule with a scepter of justice. You love righteousness and hate evil. Therefore, O God, your God has anointed You, pouring out the oil of joy on You more than on anyone else.” Hebrews 1:8-9

Praise & Prayer:
You, O LORD, are my hiding place. You protect me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah [think upon this]! Lord Jesus, please give me a heart like Yours that loves righteousness and hates evil. Thank You for reminding me through Scripture that You are the Good Shepherd who watches over me. I'm grateful for Your constant care and protection, which fills my soul with peace. Holy Spirit, please bring someone across my path today who feels alone, broken, and unseen by the LORD. Soften their heart to believe this wonderful promise from the LORD, who desires to turn them from their evil ways onto the path of righteousness. Abba Father, please hear their cry for salvation as we pray in the almighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior.

BLESSING: Repay evil with blessing and you will be blessed - 1 Peter 3:9

Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. 1 Peter 3:8-9

GOSPEL TRUTH:

• "For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength." Philippians 4:13
• "But to those of you who will listen, I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you." Luke 6:27-28
• "Do not say, “I will avenge this evil!” Wait on the LORD, and He will save you." Proverbs 20:22
• "The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26

Prayer & Praise:
Lord Jesus, I admit that this scripture seems impossible for me. When I'm wronged or attacked, my instinctive reaction is to be vengeful, lashing out and repaying evil with evil. It is only by Your amazing example and the Holy Spirit's power that I can find the strength to love and pray for individuals who do me wrong. Thank You for showing such great mercy and undeserved forgiveness toward sinners who hated You, mocked You, and crucified You. Holy Spirit, please teach me this day to be more like Jesus if I am hated, persecuted, cursed at, or mistreated by others for being a Christian. Let the peace of Christ rule my heart and remind me that by demonstrating His character to bless wrongdoers, I will receive a blessing that surpasses anything I can ask for or imagine. I pray in the mighty name of Christ Jesus.

SHEPHERD: The Good Shepherd oversees your soul - 1 Peter 2:25

For “you were like sheep going astray,” but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. 1 Peter 2:25

LIVING TRUTH:

• “What man among you, who has 100 sheep and loses one of them, does not leave the 99 in the open field and go after the lost one until he finds it? When he has found it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders, and coming home, he calls his friends and neighbors together, saying to them, Rejoice with me, because I have found my lost sheep!" Luke 15:4-6
• "I Am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep." John 10:11
• "I Am the Good Shepherd. I know My sheep and My sheep know Me, just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father. And I lay down My life for the sheep." John 10:14-15

Prayer & Praise:

Once, I was like a wandering sheep, helpless and lost without hope, but now I have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of my soul. I praise You, Lord Jesus, for Your sacrificial love in laying Your life down for me. You left the 99 sheep and searched for me when I had gone astray into the path of sin and despair. You found me, put me on Your shoulders, carried me, healed my wounds, and led me to green pastures where I see Your goodness all the days of my life. Heavenly Father, I can never thank You enough for sending Christ, the Good Shepherd, to rescue me. I confess Jesus as my LORD and surrender my life to the Overseer of my soul. I pray in Jesus' mighty name.

HEALED: By the wounds of Jesus, you have been healed - 1 Peter 2:24

He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in His mouth. When He was reviled, He did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but continued entrusting Himself to him who judges justly. He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed. 1 Peter 2:22-24

I bow before Your presence, Lord Jesus, to express my heartfelt gratitude for the countless healings I have received through Your wounds, now and in the ages to come. Use the sufferings that my family members and friends have endured or are currently facing to ignite their faith in God. I pray for complete healing and salvation in Your mighty name. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are Yours—now and forever! Amen.
