HELP: "Seek the LORD, who helps you conquer your enemy." 1 Samuel 23:2,4

One day news came to David that the Philistines were at Keilah stealing grain from the threshing floors. David sought the LORD, “Should I go and attack them?” “Yes, go and save Keilah,” the LORD told him. But David’s men said, “We’re afraid even here in Judah. We certainly don’t want to go to Keilah to fight the whole Philistine army!” So David sought the LORD again, and again the LORD replied, “Go down to Keilah, for I will help you conquer the Philistines.” 1 Samuel 23:2-4

Affirmation:
"I may feel helpless at times, but I am never hopeless because I look to God, my refuge and strength, in times of trouble." - Hector Perez

Prayer:
I confess to You, Lord God, that there are times when I feel afraid, as David’s men did, and struggle with feelings of helplessness during life’s battles. But I am learning, like David, to seek Your will and ask what You want me to do because You are my unshakable hope and ever-present help in times of trouble. I’ve come to realize that You have sometimes allowed me to experience defeat when I rely on my own feeble strength instead of trusting in Your limitless power. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for never giving up on me and for providing everything I need to live triumphantly. Through You alone, I am more than a conqueror! Use me today to help one person conquer their fears by encouraging them to pray and call upon Your mighty name. Hosanna [save now]!

SAFE: "You are safe with the Lord." 1 Samuel 22:23

But one son of Ahimelek son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped and fled to join David. He told David that Saul had killed the priests of the Lord. Then David said to Abiathar, “That day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, I knew he would be sure to tell Saul. I am responsible for the death of your whole family. Stay with me; don’t be afraid. The man who wants to kill you is trying to kill me too. You will be safe with me.” 1 Samuel 22:20-23

Prayer:
I love You, O LORD, and I run to You, my protector, sanctuary, and deliverer. As I read David’s reassuring words to Abiathar, “Stay with me; do not be afraid. You will be safe with me.” I hear an even greater assurance in Your invitation, Lord Jesus, for You laid down Your life to save Your sheep. Therefore, I will not surrender to voices of fear or lies unleashed by the devil, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. I will remain close to You, trusting You to guard my life and lead me safely through every danger. Guide me, Holy Spirit, to someone today who is tormented by fear and oppressed by anxiety. Use me to point them toward faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ, so they may feel safe and experience inner security as we pray in His almighty name. Hosanna!

KINDNESS: "The Lord shows you His unfailing kindness." 1 Samuel 20:14

But if my father intends to harm you, may the Lord deal with Jonathan, be it ever so severely, if I do not let you know and send you away in peace. May the Lord be with you as he has been with my father. But show me unfailing kindness like the Lord’s kindness as long as I live, so that I may not be killed, and do not ever cut off your kindness from my family—not even when the Lord has cut off every one of David’s enemies from the face of the earth. 1 Samuel 20:13-15

Prayer:
Your kindness, shown to me through Jesus Christ, Gracious Father, has profoundly changed my life. Thank You for helping me understand the importance of being kind and thoughtful toward others, as You are toward me. It is easy to show kindness to those who are kind to me, but teach me, Lord Jesus, to reflect Your unfailing kindness toward those I find difficult to love or feel are undeserving of my kindness. Loving Savior, please never withhold Your unfailing kindness from my family and friends who feel unworthy because of their failures or guilt. Holy Spirit, grant me an opportunity today to make a difference in someone’s life through acts of kindness. I pray in Jesus’ mighty name.

ASSURANCE: "The Lord with you." 1 Samuel 18:14

Saul was afraid of David, because the Lord was with David but had departed from Saul. So he sent David away from him and gave him command over a thousand men, and David led the troops in their campaigns. In everything he did, he had great success, because the Lord was with him. 1 Samuel 18:12-14

Prayer:
My heart is filled with assurance because You are with me, Lord Jesus, just as You were with David. Since surrendering my life to You, I have experienced great success through Your guidance, and I am no longer living in a pit of fear and insecurity as Saul did. I believe the greatest tragedy anyone could experience is what happened to him: “The LORD had departed from Saul.” O LORD, please never depart from me! Holy Spirit, please teach me to be a wise and courageous leader like David—one who trusts in the Lord and whose obedience makes His presence evident in my home and in the marketplace. Grant me success today as I align my life with God’s will so that everything I say or do may bring glory to my Lord and Savior. Amen

PROSPER: "The Lord prospers you so that you may prosper others." 1 Samuel 18:5

So David went out wherever Saul sent him, and he acted wisely and prospered; and Saul appointed him over the men of war. And it pleased all the people and also Saul’s servants. 1 Samuel 18:5

Praise & Prayer:
As I read this verse about David’s prosperity, Lord God, I am deeply aware that all my successes in the marketplace and my accomplishments in life are God-given. I ask that Your amazing grace continue to crown my life, enabling me to act wisely so I may abound in doing good to family members, friends, or strangers You place within my circle of influence. Strengthen my faith and guide me, Holy Spirit, as You guided David, so that I may bring honor to our Lord Jesus Christ in all that I say and do. Grant me the opportunity today to be a blessing to someone and to contribute to their prosperity, just as Christ, my Savior, has graciously prospered me. I pray in Jesus’ mighty name.

TRIUMPHANT: "You are triumphant through Jesus Christ." 1 Samuel 17:50

So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand, he struck down the Philistine and killed him. 1 Samuel 17:50

Praise & Prayer:
I rejoice in the truth of this Scripture, Lord Jesus, and celebrate Your magnificent triumph over our enemies at the cross of Calvary—without a sword in Your hand. Thank You for choosing a young shepherd boy like David, who was perceived as incapable by his brothers, and for making him a courageous warrior because he was a young man after God’s own heart. Holy Spirit, teach me to have unwavering faith in God and to believe, as David did, that He leads me in triumph through Christ’s victory. Empower me to triumph over the giants I face today--not by relying on my own strength or talents, but by trusting in my mighty Savior and LORD, Jesus Christ. I go forth today in His powerful and triumphant name. Amen.
