BELIEVE: Trust in Jesus and believe - Mark 16:14

Later, Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating, and He reproached them for their lack of trust and their spiritual insensitivity in not having believed those who had seen Him after He had risen. Mark 16:14

Living Truth
When they returned to the other disciples, they saw a large crowd around them, and scribes arguing with them [the disciples]. As soon as all the people saw Jesus, they were filled with awe and ran to greet Him. “What are you disputing with them?” He asked. Someone in the crowd replied, “Teacher, I brought You my son, who has a spirit that makes him mute. Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth, and becomes rigid. I asked Your disciples to drive it out, but they were unable.” “O unbelieving generation!” Jesus replied. “How long must I remain with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy to Me.” Mark 9:14-19

Prayer To Conquer Unbelief
I realize, Lord Jesus, that some people will not believe, no matter what they hear about You resurrecting from the dead or what I share about the great things You have done in my life. Please use me, Lord Jesus, in the lives of family members and others who allow disbelief to take hold, diverting them from Your truth and shattering their trust in You. Open the eyes of their blinded hearts as I point them to You so they see Your glory and realize that You alone are the answer to life's hopes, dreams, and troubles. I ask in Your mighty name, amen.

SEE: You will see JESUS, who goes before you - Mark 16:7

But he said, “Don’t be so surprised! You’re looking for Jesus from Nazareth, who was executed on the cross. He has risen, He’s not here! Look at the place where they laid Him. But go and tell His disciples, especially Peter, that He is going to Galilee ahead of you. You will see Him there, just as He told you.” Mark 16:6-7

Living Truth
  • "In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." John 14:2:
  • "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:2
  • "After His suffering, He presented Himself to them with many convincing proofs that He was alive. He appeared to them over a span of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God." Acts 1:3
Prayer & Praise
"I have invincible hope of seeing Jesus who goes before me and leads me on the path of life to our Father's house." Because You live, Lord Jesus, I live. My heart is uplifted by Your sacrificial love and mercy when I read, "Go tell His disciples, especially Peter, that they would see You in Galilee," after they had forsaken You and denied You before Your crucifiers. Abba Father, I glorify and praise You for my Savior, who shows me great compassion and undeserved favor. He fills my heart with complete assurance that You will never leave me or abandon me, so I can boldly say, 'The LORD is my helper; I will not fear!'

RISEN: Do not be afraid, Jesus is risen - Mark 16:6

When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so they could embalm Him. Very early on Sunday morning, as the sun rose, they went to the tomb. They worried out loud to each other, “Who will roll back the stone from the tomb for us?” Then they looked up, saw that it had been rolled back—it was a huge stone—and walked right in. They saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed all in white. They were completely taken aback, astonished. He said, “Do not be afraid. I know you’re looking for Jesus the Nazarene, the One they nailed on the cross. He is risen; He’s here no longer. Mark 16:1-6

Eternal Truth
  • Martha said to Him, “I know that he [Lazarus] will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”Jesus said to her, “I Am the resurrection and the life; the one who believes in Me will live, even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:24-26
  • “I tell you the truth, those who listen to My message and believe in God who sent Me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life." John 5:24
Prayer & Praise
Fear and sadness are gone, Lord Jesus, as I read "the stone is rolled away and the One they nailed to the cross is risen!" I believe You are the resurrection and the life, and praise You for rolling away the stone of sin and death. Abba Father, in a world that constantly tries to deny Your living Word and Christ's resurrection, I will hold on to the truth that Jesus is risen and spread the good news that He will raise all who believe in Him to eternal life. Hallelujah and amen.

GAVE: Jesus gave His all for you - Mark 15:37

But Jesus, with a loud cry, gave up His spirit and last breath. At that moment, the Temple curtain ripped right down the middle. Mark 15:37-38

INFALLIBLE TRUTH
  • "Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way opened for us through the curtain of His body, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water." Hebrews 10:20-22
  • "Because of Christ and our faith in Him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence." Ephesians 3:12
HYMN: "JESUS PAID IT ALL" by Elvina M. Hall (click HERE to read more stanzas)
And when, before the throne,
I stand in Him complete,
"Jesus died my soul to save,"
My lips shall still repeat.

Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.

Praise & Prayer
I can only imagine, Lord Jesus, the pain and suffering that tore Your heart on the cross to save those who trust in You from the wages of sin and death. Thank You for ripping the temple curtain from top to bottom, the barrier that separated us from entering God's holy presence. I praise You for giving Your all for me and opening a new and living way to our Heavenly Father through the curtain of Your body. Abba Father, I join Elvina Hall in saying, Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe, sin had left a crimson stain on my life, but Jesus washed white as snow. Receive my adoration in Jesus' mighty name.

FORSAKEN: Jesus was forsaken, so you would never be forsaken - Mark 15:34

From noon until three in the afternoon, darkness came over all the land. At three in the afternoon, Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” Mark 15:33-34

Prayer & Praise
Alone, alone, all alone, in utter darkness and sheer agony, You suffered my sin and death on Calvary. Lord Jesus, I cannot praise You or ever thank You enough for the torment You endured on the cross so that I could be forgiven of my sins and have the hope of eternal life. Because of You, I have confidence that "GOD WILL NEVER FORSAKE ME, NOR WILL HE EVER ABANDON ME so I can confidently say, "The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can mere mortals do to me?" Abba Father, receive my worship and praise in the mighty name of Christ, my Savior.

SAVE: JESUS did not save Himself so He could save you! Mark 15:31

Two revolutionaries were crucified with Him, one on His right and one on His left. The people passing by shouted abuse, shaking their heads in mockery. “Ha! Look at You now!” they yelled at Him. “You said you were going to destroy the Temple and rebuild it in three days. Well then, save Yourself and come down from the cross!” The leading priests and teachers of religious law also mocked Jesus. “He saved others,” they scoffed, “but He can’t save Himself! Let this Messiah, this King of Israel, come down from the cross so we can see it and believe Him!” Even the men who were crucified with Jesus ridiculed Him. Mark 15:27-32

Eternal Truth
"Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, He will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of His Son while we were still His enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of His Son." Romans 5:7-10

Prayer & Praise
How prophetic and true were the words shouted by people and religious leaders about You, Lord Jesus, that "You saved others, but not Yourself." I praise You for sacrificing Your sinless and righteous life on the cross, bearing the weight of humanity's sins in Your body, so that even Your enemies might be reconciled with God and saved from condemnation. I will forever thank You, Abba Father, for Your great love and the hope of salvation You have given me through the life of Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ.
