Two revolutionaries were crucified with Him, one on His right and one on His left. The people passing by shouted abuse, shaking their heads in mockery. “Ha! Look at You now!” they yelled at Him. “You said you were going to destroy the Temple and rebuild it in three days. Well then, save Yourself and come down from the cross!” The leading priests and teachers of religious law also mocked Jesus. “He saved others,” they scoffed, “but He can’t save Himself! Let this Messiah, this King of Israel, come down from the cross so we can see it and believe Him!” Even the men who were crucified with Jesus ridiculed Him. Mark 15:27-32
Eternal Truth
"Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, He will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of His Son while we were still His enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of His Son." Romans 5:7-10
Prayer & Praise
How prophetic and true were the words shouted by people and religious leaders about You, Lord Jesus, that "You saved others, but not Yourself." I praise You for sacrificing Your sinless and righteous life on the cross, bearing the weight of humanity's sins in Your body, so that even Your enemies might be reconciled with God and saved from condemnation. I will forever thank You, Abba Father, for Your great love and the hope of salvation You have given me through the life of Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ.
March through books of the Bible and meditate on the verse and prayer of the day to help strengthen your faith and personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. Loving people with compassionate care and pointing them to Christ our Savior is how you will be a soul winner and bring glory of God.
