Prayer
Heavenly Father, I praise You for sending Jesus Christ to atone for my sins. Because of His sufferings and death on the cross, my sins have been covered by His blood and I am brought back to fellowship with You. Lord Jesus, I'm humbled that You were willing to be pierced for my transgressions, crushed for my iniquities; the punishment that brought me peace was upon You, and by Your wounds I am healed. Thank You for bringing both physical and spiritual wholeness to my life through faith in You. Lead me and keep near Your cross. In Your name I pray, amen.
Atonement: The Hebrew word kaphar means "to cover over" such as the lid of the ark of the covenant; Reconciliation between God and humans brought about by the redemptive life and death of Jesus on the cross.
