The Lord gives and takes-Job 1:21

How can you mend a broken heart? How can a loser ever win? The lyrics in a song by the Bee Gees back in the 70's asks these two profound questions. The Bible verse for today gives you a real world example of a godly man's faith in a time of crisis. Bad things happen to good people, and all of us will go through hardships and sufferings in life, however, God promises to always present and will to never allow you be tempted or tested with more than you can handle.

Bible verse of faith in time of crisis

When Job heard this, he tore his clothes and shaved his head because of his great sorrow. He knelt on the ground, then worshiped God and said: “We bring nothing at birth; we take nothing with us at death. The Lord alone gives and takes. Praise the name of the Lord!” Job 1:20-21 CEV

Prayer of faith in time of loss

Merciful Father, I place my family, life, and plans in Your hands. I'm constantly aware that You are the giver of all things and rightful owner of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray for patience and strength of faith like Job when I suffer loss or face grief. Draw near to me O Lord and stir me to be a source of blessing to people with broken hearts. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
