So Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else. Mark 10:42-44 NLT

Truth: A great leader rises up when they humble themselves to serve others.

Prayer to be a servant leader

Lord Jesus, I thank You for giving me the secret to being a great leader which begins by being the servant of all. Deliver me from having a prideful heart that relies on positional or title authority and seeks to be served. Holy Spirit, teach me how to serve heartily as a servant leader of Christ with a willing heart and a smile on my face. Nudge me to take action and serve someone today who needs my help. I pray in the name of Jesus.
