"Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14 NIV


Definition of Immanuel: "Immanuel" is a Hebrew word meaning "God with us" and expresses the wonder of the incarnation, that God "became flesh and made His dwelling among us through the birth of Jesus."


Prayer to understand the meaning of Immanuel

Heavenly Father, my heart is filled with joy as I read this promise and sense Your deep desire to dwell among us. Thank You for revealing to all of humanity the greatest sign of Christmas through the virgin birth of Your Son. Holy Spirit, bring someone across my path today who needs or wants to experience the presence of God in their life by trusting and believing in JESUS, OUR IMMANUEL. In His wonderful name I pray. Amen
