Holy scripture of the day about Jesus took your sin and conquered death for you!
For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, in order that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit. 1 Peter 3:18 ASB
Truth: Two thousand years ago, Jesus Christ took the sin of the world upon Himself. He willingly laid down His life, was tortured, and died on the cross for you and me. Through faith in Christ, we will pass from death into eternal life. May your heart be filled with unfailing hope as we celebrate the victory of Christ our Lord over sin and death!
Then Pilate set Barabbas free for them; and after he had Jesus whipped, he handed him over to be crucified. Matthew 27:26
When they came to the place called “The Skull,” they crucified Jesus there, and the two criminals, one on his right and the other on his left. Luke 23:33
The leading priests, the teachers of religious law, and the elders also mocked Jesus. "He saved others," they scoffed, "but he can't save himself! So he is the King of Israel, is he? Let him come down from the cross right now, and we will believe in him! (Matthew 27:41-42)
Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed. When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left. Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. Luke 23:32-34
One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!” But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? 41 We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” Luke 23:39-43
When the army officer and the soldiers with him who were watching Jesus saw the earthquake and everything else that happened, they were terrified and said, “He really was the Son of God!” (Matthew 27:54)
“It is finished!” Then he bowed His head and gave up His spirit. (John 19:30)
We despised him and rejected him; he endured suffering and pain.
No one would even look at him—we ignored him as if he were nothing.
But he endured the suffering that should have been ours, the pain that we should have borne.
All the while we thought that his suffering was punishment sent by God.
But because of our sins, he was wounded, beaten because of the evil we did.
We are healed by the punishment he suffered, made whole by the blows he received.
(Isaiah 53:3-5)
