As Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside privately and told them what was going to happen to him. “Listen,” he said, “we’re going up to Jerusalem, where the Son of Man will be betrayed to the leading priests and the teachers of religious law. They will sentence him to die. Then they will hand him over to the Romans to be mocked, flogged with a whip, and crucified. I exalt You, Lord Jesus, for Your victory over death. You were mocked, flogged with a whip, and crucified for my sin and shame. I cannot Thank You enough for being my Savior who lifts me out of terrible darkness and raises me up from the realm of the dead. Holy Spirit, guide someone across my path today who is terrified by death. Use my care to open up the door to share the wonderful victory of Christ Jesus over death. Hallelujah!
