FREE: The Son sets you free - John 8:36 (Wishing you a safe 4th of July)

The holy scripture for today about the Son sets you free - Read more Bible verses about Freedom

Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin. A slave is not a permanent member of the family, but a son is part of the family forever. So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free. John 8:34-36

Quote: "The only way you will ever experience true freedom is through Christ Jesus." - Hector Perez

Prayer to be set free

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for setting me free from the horrible chains of sin and death and ushering me into Your precious family of love and life. Stop me Holy Spirit from ever using my freedom to do what is evil, but rather, to live as a bondservant of God by loving and caring for others just as Jesus does for me. Guide someone across my path today who is being held captive by the devil in his prison house of hopelessness. Let my care be the key that opens the door to experience the true freedom that only Jesus can give us.

Wishing you and your beloved family a safe and blessed 4th of July!

INDEPENDENCE DAY PRAYER - Joshua Masters
Almighty Father, we celebrate and thank You for our nation’s 244th birthday. We come before You with thanksgiving for the freedom bestowed on me each day anew. From our earliest days, You have made us a nation of strength and compassion because we sought Your favor. John Adams was right when he wrote of Independence Day, saying: “It ought to be commemorated, as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty.”

We will not forget that You are our deliverer, refuge, and fortress. It is You alone, our Creator, who endows us with the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as our Declaration of Independence proclaims. We recognize that true freedom is not granted by a piece of paper, but through the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior: "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." (Galatians 5:1 NIV)

Heal our land and help us to be forever watchful of our hearts, that we may not blindly fall into the slavery of sin, pride, hate, or racial divide. Instead, let the skies above our land be a constant reminder of Your good hand upon our nation and all of creation. Let Your Holy Spirit direct us in doing Your will in the land of America. Stir our hearts to embrace the words spoken by Samuel Adams as the Declaration of Independence was being signed: "We have this day restored the Sovereign to Whom all men ought to be obedient. He reigns in heaven and from the rising to the setting of the sun, let His kingdom come.”

On this Independence Day, we do not celebrate our own accomplishments, but Yours through us. May You receive the honor and glory for America’s greatness, and may we be faithful messengers of Your gospel to all the nations in Jesus' name. AMEN.
