This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit. Joseph, to whom she was engaged, was a righteous man and did not want to disgrace her publicly, so he decided to break the engagement quietly. As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. “Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a Son, and you are to name Him Yeshua, [which means ‘Adonai saves,’] because He will save His people from their sins.” Matthew 1:18-21 NLT/CJB

Prayer to be saved by Jesus

I am so thankful to have a wonderful Savior who was born to save me. I confess Lord Jesus that I am a sinner who needs Your salvation. Without You, my life would be a total mess and this world would be hopeless. Guide me Holy Spirit to someone today who feels like a lost and forgotten sinner. Grant me an opportunity to share the marvelous story of Jesus' birth and how He has the power to save and transform all who call upon His Almighty name into a new person. Hosanna in the highest!
