Meaning of forgiveness in Hebrew: There are two primary Hebrew words in the OT, which are translated as; pardon, pardoned, forgive, forgiveness, forgiven, or forgiving. These are “NASA” and “SALAH”; NASA, means “the taking away, forgiveness or pardon of sin, iniquity, and transgression. Sin can be forgiven and forgotten because it is taken up and carried away by God; SALAH, means "God’s offer of pardon and forgiveness to the sinner."

Praise & Prayer for God's forgiveness

God of mercy, I praise You for the great forgiveness You have gifted me. I recall the words of Christ, my Savior, as He hung upon the cross and prayed, "Father, forgive them because they do not know what they are doing." You demonstrated unconditional love for sinners like me through the sacrifice of Your precious Son. Lord Jesus, I thank You for carrying away my sin and pardoning all of my transgressions. Please give me the strength and willingness to forgive family members, friends, and people who have wronged me. Holy Spirit, please guide me to someone today who is resentful or bitter. I pray in Jesus' name for their freedom from the devil's prison-house of condemnation. Prompt their heart to accept God's forgiveness and great mercy in Jesus' mighty name. Hallelujah!
