PRAY: Pray for kings and all who are in authority - 1 Timothy 2:2 (President's Day)

The word of truth for today is about praying for kings and all who are in authority - Read more verses about praying for leaders

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. 1 Timothy 2:1-4

Quote: "There are men and women who make the world better just by being the kind of people they are. They have the gift of kindness or courage or loyalty or integrity. It really matters very little whether they are behind the wheel of a truck or running a business or bringing up a family. They teach the truth by living it." - President James Garfield.

Praise & Prayer for our Leaders

Loving Father, I pause this President's Day to thank You for the forty-six leaders You selected to serve and lead our country in the role of President of the United States. As the apostle Paul encourages believers to do in 1 Timothy, we kneel before Your holy presence to pray for our President, Federal Department Heads, State Officials, and Local Authorities who govern and protect our country. I pray for their salvation and ask You to please give them a heart like Jesus, so they strive to be servant leaders who make our country and this world a better place by being men and women of kindness, truth, and humility. Gift them with a spirit of integrity and courage, so they do what is pleasing and right in Your eyes. Fill their minds with wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and guide them through Your Holy Spirit in leading our nation. Please have mercy on us as we humble ourselves, seek Your face, and pray for Your favor in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior.
