As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. Ephesians 2:1-5 NIV
Praise & Prayer
Abba Father, I praise You for making me alive in Christ Jesus my Savior. No words can express the gratitude in my heart for Your great love, rich mercy, and marvelous grace that delivered me from the ways of this world and freed me from the powers of sin and death. No longer am I controlled by the ruler of this age, the devil, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy me. Holy Spirit, please fill my heart with an unquenchable passion for obedience, so I honor our heavenly Father and Lord Jesus with my thoughts, words, and actions. Grant me an opportunity to share this marvelous truth with someone who is spiritually dead and struggles with feelings of worthlessness. Make their spirit come alive by believing—"You are made alive and saved by God's amazing grace, which can never be earned." I pray for their salvation in the powerful name of Jesus.
