I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for teaching me the powerful and secret virtue of contentment. As a young man, I always coveted and wanted what I didn't have and lived a life doing things my way, which created greater holes in my life. I praise You for speaking to me through my grandson's prayer last month when he thanked You for his bed. It touched my heart and increased my gratitude for having a bed to sleep on. Holy Spirit, please help me embrace the rare and precious jewel of contentment. Remind me that in Jesus Christ, I have everything I need or desire. Guide me to someone today who brags about material possessions yet feels empty and unfulfilled in their heart. Grant me an opportunity to convey the secret of contentment by pointing them to Jesus Christ. I pray in His mighty name.
