FORGET: Forget what is behind and press on toward the goal - Philippians 3:14

I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of His resurrection and participation in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:10-14 NIV

Thank You, Abba Father, for reminding me about the importance of forgetting what is behind me in 2024 and straining toward the goal of knowing Christ in deeper ways as I begin the new year. Holy Spirit, please help me to overcome all bitterness and 'stinking thinking' by forgiving (letting go) of past wrongs done to me by family members or friends, as well as personal mistakes and sins that I have committed against God and others. Teach me to live in the reality of being born again with a new life that God has given me in Christ Jesus. Infuse my heart with a hunger and thirst to press ahead toward the heavenly goal and the greatest prize of being with Christ Jesus for all eternity. Use me this day to help someone who is trying to move on from their past, but every time they try, they can't get past their past. I pray in Jesus' mighty name.
