NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER: Pray without ceasing – 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Holy scripture for today regarding the NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER - Read more 2019 Prayer Guide

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Today is the National Day of Prayer, designated by the United States Congress, when God’s people are asked "to turn to God in prayer and meditation". The president is required by law to sign a proclamation each year, encouraging all Americans to pray on this day. Please prioritize praying together with other believers for our Nation. This year’s theme is: “LOVE ONE ANOTHER, JUST AS I HAVE LOVED YOU.” John 13:34

The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. 18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalms 34:17-18 2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people, who bear my name, will humble themselves, pray, seek my face and turn from their evil ways, I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Ephesians 6:18

Prayer for our Nation

You O LORD are the Sovereign God who rules heaven and earth. We humble ourselves before Your throne of mercy and pray this day for our nation. Forgive our sin and heal our country which desperately needs You. Raise up men, women, and children who are servant leaders that love You and are unashamed to glorify You in their homes and the marketplace. We pray that love may grow and abound in each of the seven centers of influence across America: GOVERNMENT; MILITARY; MEDIA ARTS; BUSINESS; EDUCATION; CHURCH; and FAMILY; Turn us Holy Spirit back to God and teach us to love one another in the mighty name of Jesus our Lord and Savior.
