Day 9 - Christmas Tradition: Jesus was born to reveal His glory and God's splendor - Luke 9:32

The word of truth for today about JESUS came to reveal His glory and God's splendor - Read more verses about God's glory in Christ Jesus

About eight days after Jesus said this, He took Peter, John and James with Him and went up onto a mountain to pray. As He was praying, the appearance of His face changed, and His clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning. Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus. They spoke about His departure, which He was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem. Peter and his companions were very sleepy, but when they became fully awake, they saw His glory and the two men standing with Him. As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to Him, "Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for You, one for Moses and one for Elijah." (He did not know what he was saying.) While he was speaking, a cloud appeared and covered them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. A voice came from the cloud, saying, "This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to Him." When the voice had spoken, they found that Jesus was alone. The disciples kept this to themselves and did not tell anyone at that time what they had seen. Luke 9:28-36 NIV

Truth: "JESUS is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power." Hebrews 1:3

Prayer to see the glory of Christ Jesus

I bow before Your feet LORD Jesus and confess You as the Son of God and Savior of the world. Thank You for being the exact representation of God. Thank You for revealing His glory so we could KNOW, LOVE, and SERVE our heavenly Father. I praise You for taking me to the mountain top like Peter, John, and James to hear God's voice say to me, "This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to Him." Holy Spirit, please awaken me to see the glory of Jesus and teach me to hear His voice of Jesus amid this noisy world. Guide a family member or friend who has never seen the glory of Christ Jesus or heard the voice of God speak to them. Open their eyes to see the glory of Christ Jesus this Christmas season, so they experience the unfailing love and closeness of our heavenly Father. I pray in Jesus' mighty name. Amen
