A Mother’s love is something
that no one can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and of sacrifice and pain,

It is endless and unselfish
and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away . . .

It is patient and forgiving
when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking . . .

It believes beyond believing
when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems . . .

It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation . . .

A many splendored miracle
man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
of God’s tender guiding hand.

Prayer of Thanks for our Mother(s)

Abba Father, this poem expresses the gratitude that I feel in my heart for my mothers. I praise You for the wonderful gift of my beloved mother, Sara, and the great blessing of my beloved mother-in-law, Juanita, who reflect Your love, sacrifice, and compassionate care. I also want to thank You for my beloved wife who is unselfish and ready to sacrifice her time to support our children or grandchildren in times of need. Compel me, Holy Spirit, to bless and honor mothers this weekend by telling them; "Many mothers have done excellently, but you surpass them all."  I pray a blessing in Jesus' mighty name on all of the mothers in this world.
