One afternoon about three o’clock, Cornelius had a vision. He clearly saw an angel from God coming to him and saying, “Cornelius!” Staring at the angel and feeling afraid, Cornelius said, “What do you want, sir?” The angel said to him, “God has heard your prayers and has seen your gifts to the poor. He remembers you and all you have done. Acts 10:3-4 ERV
Poem: "God Hears Our Prayers" by Deborah Ann Belka*
Whenever I am fearful,
afraid or discouraged
I pray to my Father . . .
so to be encouraged.
For, prayer is my retreat,
a resting place for my soul
it is where I let go . . .
so God can take control.
For, prayer is my sanctuary,
where God’s mercy I can find
it’s where His eternal hope
takes over my heart and mind.

Praise & Prayer to Pray without Ceasing
I love You, gracious Father because You hear my prayers and answer them. Lord Jesus, I praise You for reminding me through this scripture that God is always listening to my prayers and does not forget the good I have done for others, even when family, friends, or people don't remember or acknowledge me. Stir me Holy Spirit to keep being like Jesus by giving tangible and intangible gifts of love and kindness to the poor and praying without ceasing for as long as I have breath. I pray in the name above all names, Jesus Christ, my Savior.
