HABIT: Make it a habit to say, if the LORD wills it - James 4:15

Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil. James 4:13-16 NIV

Gospel Truth: "You may think everything you do is right, but the LORD judges your motives. Ask the LORD to bless your plans, and you will be successful in carrying them out." Proverbs 16:2-3; "Commit your future to the LORD! Trust in Him, and He will act on your behalf." Psalm 37:5; "We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps [outcomes]." Proverbs 16:9; "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Prayer & Praise
Heavenly Father, please forgive my arrogance in creating schedules, planning vacations, and organizing future events without involving You. I surrender my life into Your hands and pray, "Not my will, but Your will be done." Please remind me, Holy Spirit, to develop the habit of committing my plans to the LORD by praying and saying, "If God wills it, we will meet next week, go on vacation to Lake Tahoe, move to a new city, start a new business, have a baby, etc." Lord Jesus, I praise You for going to the cross to fulfill God's wonderful plan and usher in the hope of eternal life in Your glorious Kingdom where there will be no more pain, no more tears, no more sickness, no more poverty, no more suffering, no more sorrow, no more death, and no more sin. I join the hosts of heaven and declare that all praise, honor, and glory be Yours forever. Amen.

Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently...
