OBEDIENCE: God honors your obedience - Jeremiah 35:19

Then Jeremiah said to the family of the Rekabites, “This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: ‘You have obeyed the command of your forefather Jehonadab and have followed all his instructions and have done everything he ordered.’ Therefore, this is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘Jehonadab son of Recab will always have descendants who serve Me.’” Jeremiah 35:18-19

• Samuel said, “Has the LORD as great a delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices As in obedience to the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed is better than the fat of rams. 1 Samuel 15:22
• “Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves Me. The one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I too will love them and show Myself to them.” John 14:21
• “Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from Me. Nevertheless, not My will, but Your will be done." Luke 22:42

Prayer
My greatest honor in life is serving You, Abba Father. Lord Jesus, I want to demonstrate my love for You by hearing Your voice and obeying Your commands. Holy Spirit, please continue to shape my heart and remind me that trusting and obeying God is how I will be a blessing and strong influence of godliness to my family, as was Jehonadab, forefather of the Recabites. I ask in Jesus' mighty name.
