Living Truth:
- "No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." This teaching of Jesus underscores the impossibility of living a duplicitous life, serving two opposing masters. It calls for single-minded devotion to God, free from the deceit of divided loyalties." Matthew 6:24
- "And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15
- "Now I Am departing from the world; they are staying in this world, but I Am coming to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, which You have given Me, that they may be one, even as We are one." John 17:11
Prayer
I give You my heart, Abba Father. Teach me Your way, Lord Jesus, so I may be single-minded in serving God and walking in Your truth. Holy Spirit, please deliver me from having a duplicitous heart so that I may fear the LORD and see His blessing upon my children and grandchildren. Strengthen my zeal to love and serve my Master, Christ Jesus, all the days He grants me here on earth. Give me a heart after Jesus' heart. Rescue me from ever serving the gods of this world, such as the evil one, money, materialism, fame, power, pride, and lust. I pray in His mighty name, Amen.
