JESUS: Listen to Jesus and focus solely on Him - Mark 9:7

After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with Him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There He was transfigured before them. His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them. And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus. Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for You, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” He did not know what to say, they were so frightened. Then a cloud appeared and covered them, and a voice came from the cloud: “This is My Son, whom I love. Listen to Him!” Suddenly, when they looked around, they no longer saw anyone with them except Jesus. Mark 9:2-8

Living Truth

• "For we did not follow cleverly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty. For He received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to Him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I Am well pleased.” And we ourselves heard this voice from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain. 2 Peter 1:16-18 
• "We must focus on Jesus, the source and goal of our faith. He saw the joy ahead of Him, so He endured death on the cross and ignored the disgrace it brought Him. Then He received the highest position in heaven, the one next to the throne of God." Hebrews 12:2

• “Blessed is the person who listens to Me, Watching daily at My gates, Waiting at My doorposts." Proverbs 8:34

Prayer

I am listening and waiting for You, Lord Jesus. Please speak to me and let me hear Your voice, which fills my heart with living hope and indescribable joy. As I turn to look at Your wonderful face, the things of this world grow strangely dim in the light of Your glory and grace. Holy Father, I feel incredibly honored that You have covered me with a heavenly cloud of witnesses like Peter, James, and John, whose eyes were opened to see the Majesty of Your Beloved Son. Please teach me, Holy Spirit, to keep my eyes focused on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my faith. Don't allow me to get distracted by the things of the world that the devil uses to divert or deceive me from my Good Shepherd. I ask in Jesus' mighty name.
