SIGNIFICANCE: Everything you do for Jesus has significance - Mark 14:6

Jesus was at Bethany, a guest of Simon the Leper. While he was eating dinner, a woman came up carrying a bottle of very expensive perfume. Opening the bottle, she poured it on His head. Some of the guests became furious among themselves. “That’s criminal! A sheer waste! This perfume could have been sold for well over a year’s wages and handed out to the poor.” They swelled up in anger, nearly bursting with indignation over her. But Jesus said, “Let her alone. Why are you giving her a hard time? She has just done something wonderfully significant for Me. You will have the poor with you every day for the rest of your lives. Whenever you feel like it, you can do something for them. Not so with Me. She did what she could when she could—she pre-anointed My body for burial. And you can be sure that wherever in the whole world the Message is preached, what she just did is going to be talked about admiringly.” Mark 14:3-9

Living Truth
Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Look at this woman kneeling here. When I entered your home, you didn’t offer Me water to wash the dust from My feet, but she has washed them with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You didn’t greet Me with a kiss, but from the time I first came in, she has not stopped kissing My feet. You neglected the courtesy of olive oil to anoint My head, but she has anointed My feet with expensive perfume. “I tell you, her sins—and they are many—have been forgiven, so she has shown Me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love.” Then Jesus said to the woman, “Your sins are forgiven.” Luke 7:44-48

Prayer & Praise
Nothing I do for Jesus is a waste. As I read this scripture, I remembered, Lord Jesus, the voices of the past who said to me, "Hector, you are wasting your life being a follower of Jesus." I bow with thanksgiving and praise You for proving them wrong. I come before Your presence like this woman with my box of expensive perfume filled with worship to express my indebtedness. As my relationship with You grows stronger, I continue to experience mercy, undeserved favor, purpose, joy, and hope that are impossible to find without You. Holy Spirit, please guide someone across my path today who is searching for meaning and believes that expensive assets, money, power, or fame can fill the great void in their heart. Grant me the opportunity to share the great things Jesus does for those who love Him and follow Him. Abba Father, stir their heart to give it all to Jesus and call on His mighty name to save them.
