MERCY: "Pray to the God of heaven for mercy." Daniel 2:18

When Arioch, the commander of the king’s guard, had gone out to put to death the wise men of Babylon, Daniel spoke to him with wisdom and discretion. He asked the king’s officer, “Why did the king issue such a harsh decree?” Arioch then explained the matter to Daniel. So Daniel went in and requested the king to grant him some time, that he might disclose the interpretation to the king. Then Daniel went to his home and informed his friends Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah of the matter. He told them to pray to the God of heaven for mercy and to ask Him to explain the mystery to them so that they would not be killed along with the other wise men in Babylon. Daniel 2:14-18

Prayer:
Be merciful to me, a sinner! LORD God Almighty, I kneel before You with gratitude for the great mercy You have shown me through Christ Jesus. Thank You for rescuing my soul from death, just as You delivered Daniel and his friends. When I face danger or an impossible situation, stir me, Holy Spirit, to pray immediately and invite other believers to join me in seeking mercy and deliverance from our God of miracles. Teach me to respond with wisdom and discretion, as Daniel did, rather than letting fear lead me into depression and isolation. I ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, my Lord and Savior.
