Prayer for America

Heavenly Father, we come in humility to pray for our nation, the United States of America. I begin by thanking You for the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ and His victory over sin and death. We are grateful for the countless blessings You have poured out upon our nation for 237 years. We ask You to please shed Your grace upon our country and protect us against terrorists, acts of violence, and diseases. I pray for the healing of brokenhearted families who have suffered loss, marriages that are torn apart, and the healing of children who have been neglected or abused. Please turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents and fill us with Your untiring love. Deliver us from racism, hate, and crippling addictions that bring division and ruin to our lives. Please give wisdom from above to President Obama, Congress, Supreme Court Justices, and Government leaders who oversee and guide our country. Help our leaders guard the freedom our forefathers fought and died for. Reinstate Your living word in our courtrooms, schools, businesses, and homes. Help our country return to its biblical roots of freedom and truth that we may experience times of refreshing, spiritual awakening, and revival. Give us a hate for sin and a love for righteousness as we humble ourselves and seek Your face. I ask this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen
