Day 3 - Christmas Tradition: Jesus was born to baptize you with the Holy Spirit - Luke 3:17

The word of hope for today about The Messiah has come to baptize you with the Holy Spirit - Read more about what does Messiah mean?

Everyone was expecting the Messiah to come soon, and they were eager to know whether John might be the Messiah. John answered their questions by saying, “I baptize you with water; but someone is coming soon who is greater than I am—so much greater that I’m not even worthy to be His slave and untie the straps of His sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. He is ready to separate the chaff from the wheat with His winnowing fork. Then he will clean up the threshing area, gathering the wheat into his barn but burning the chaff with never-ending fire.” Luke 3:15-17 NLT

The meaning of MESSIAH:  "Messiah comes from the Hebrew word mashiach and means “anointed one” or “chosen one.” The Greek equivalent is the word Christos or, in English, Christ. The name “Jesus Christ” is the same as “Jesus the Messiah.”

Prayer to be baptized by the Messiah

Dear Jesus, I praise You for being the Messiah, God's chosen and anointed One. I confess You as my Redeemer, Ruler, and Savior. Like John, I also acknowledge Your greatness and admit that I'm not even worthy to be Your slave or untie the straps of Your sandals. I ask You to please baptize me with Holy Spirit and with fire so I may think like You, speak like You, act like You, and love God and people like You. Burn away all of the chaff, and rottenness in my life with Your fire that purifies my life so I can shine brighter for You this Christmas season. Holy Spirit, let me feel Your abiding presence with me today. Use me to be a source of comfort and hope to people in the marketplace who do not know The Messiah, Christ Jesus. In His precious name, I pray. Amen.
