LIFE: Give up your life for Jesus and you will save it - Mark 8:35

Then Jesus called the crowd and his disciples to him. He said, “Any of you who want to be My follower must stop thinking about yourself and what you want. You must be willing to carry the cross that is given to you for following Me. Any of you who try to save the life you have will lose it. But you who give up your life for Me and for the Good News will save it. It is worth nothing for you to gain the whole world if you yourself are lost. You could never pay enough to buy back your life. Mark 8:34-37

Living Truth

• "If we live, we live to the LORD, and if we die, we die to the LORD. So whether we live or die, we belong to the LORD." Romans 14:8
• "And I heard a great voice in heaven, saying, Now is come the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ: for the accuser [Satan] of our brethren is cast down, which accuses them before our God day and night. And they overcame him [Satan] because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony; for they did not love their lives to the point of death." Revelation 12:11
• "I [Paul] have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. The prize that shows I have God's approval is now waiting for me. The Lord, who is a fair judge, will give me that prize on that day. He will give it not only to me but also to everyone who is eagerly waiting for Him to come again." 2 Timothy 4:7-8

Prayer & Praise
For to me to live is Christ, and to lose my life for You, Lord Jesus, is worth everything! I praise You for Your boundless love that compels me to follow You. I am convinced that You died for me on the cross, so I choose to live for You and not end my life as a loser. Deliver me, Holy Spirit, from living a self-centered life that contradicts what our Savior teaches us. Please give me strength today to carry the cross that Jesus has given me, so that I remain faithful in following Him and finish life as an overcomer. I pray this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ.
