RELEASED: Jesus paid the price for your release from death - Mark 15:15

Now it was the custom at the festival to release a prisoner whom the people requested. A man called Barabbas was in prison with the insurrectionists who had committed murder in the uprising. The crowd came up and asked Pilate to do for them what he usually did. “Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?” asked Pilate, knowing it was out of self-interest that the chief priests had handed Jesus over to him. But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have Pilate release Barabbas instead. “What shall I do, then, with the one you call the King of the Jews?” Pilate asked them. “Crucify Him!” they shouted. “Why? What crime has He committed?” asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify Him!” Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged, and handed Him over to be crucified. Mark 15:6-15

LIVING TRUTH
  • “Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through Him [Christ] forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and through Him [Christ] everyone who believes is freed [released] from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses." Acts 13:38-39
  • "But now we have been released from the law, for we died to it and are no longer captive to its power. Now we can serve God, not in the old way of obeying the letter of the law, but in the new way of living in the Spirit." Romans 7:6
  • "I have swept away your sins like a cloud. I have scattered your offenses like the morning mist. Oh, return to Me, for I have paid the price to set you free.” Isaiah 44:22
Praise & Prayer
I praise You, Lord Jesus, for taking my death sentence. You willingly accepted crucifixion to pay the great price for my release from eternal condemnation that I rightfully deserved because of my crimes. Abba Father, no one has ever loved me like You and Christ Jesus do. I return to You in worship and glorify You for sacrificing Your only begotten Son, who released me from my chains of death. I am forever grateful to You and go forth today, honored to be a bondservant of Jesus Christ, my Savior. Amen.

Poem: "FREEDOM FROM SIN" by Lisa-Jane La Grange.
And now we live a brand new life
released from sin’s abhorrent strife.
The word of God transforms our minds
and frees us from the snare that binds.

Released to live a life of love,
we’re drenched in blessings from above.
Like Jesus, we can choose to be,
because our hearts have been set free.
