PLEASING: If you suffer for doing good, you God is pleased with you - 1 Peter 2:20

Of course, you get no credit for being patient if you are beaten for doing wrong. But if you suffer for doing good and endure it patiently, God is pleased with you. For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in His steps. 1 Peter 2:20-21

INFALLIBLE TRUTH:

• "If you are insulted because you bear the name of Christ, you will be blessed, for the glorious Spirit of God rests upon you." 1 Peter 4:16 
• "Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution." 2 Timothy 3:12
• "And if we are children, then we are heirs: heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ—if indeed we suffer with Him, so that we may also be glorified with Him." Romans 8:17
• "But Joseph replied, “Do not be afraid. Am I in the place of God? As for you, what you intended against me for evil, God intended for good, in order to accomplish a day like this—to preserve the lives of many people." Genesis 50:19-20

Prayer & Praise:

I accept God's calling to follow Christ's footsteps, who is my example in being a force for good. Lord Jesus, I am honored to bear Your name and willing to suffer for being a disciple of Yours. I praise You for enduring unjust suffering, persecution, hostility, and death on a cross from sinners for doing good. Holy Spirit, please strengthen me this day to be a God-pleaser by doing what is good in His sight, even if it means that I must suffer as a Christian. Remind me that God turns what evil people do to me for being a Christian into something good. I ask in Jesus' mighty name.
