Holy Week: A prophetic event that occurred on Thursday evening.
Now, as they were eating, Jesus took the bread, and after blessing it, He broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.” And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you; for this is My blood of the new covenant, which ratifies the agreement and is being poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.” After singing a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
Then Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away because of Me this night, for it is written in the Scriptures, ‘I WILL STRIKE THE SHEPHERD, AND THE SHEEP OF THE FLOCK WILL BE SCATTERED.’ But after I Am raised to life, I will go ahead of you to Galilee.” Matthew 26:26-32
Eternal Truth:
Abba Father, I worship and praise You for the precious and spotless blood my Lord Jesus poured out for the forgiveness of my sins. Thank You for fulfilling Your promise of a new and everlasting covenant that Jesus made possible on the cross through His atoning blood. I will forever be grateful to You and my Shepherd for laying down His life to save all who trust in Him as their Messiah and confess Him as LORD. Thank You, Mighty Savior, for being the Passover Lamb, who takes away the sin of the world and will return as the risen LORD and King of Glory, who will reign in righteousness for all eternity. Hallelujah and Amen.
