Brave heart-Joshua 1:9

How can you be brave and not coward when facing opposition? I recently spoke with a person who told me that he was on a subway train and witnessed the beating of a man who would hop on the train to play his guitar and earn a few bucks. A couple of guys who did the same thing saw him and confronted him. "You are in our territory buddy and will pay for it." They grabbed his guitar, busted it in pieces, and beat him up in front of 10-15 bystanders who did nothing. I'm not telling you to put your life at risk in these types of situations, however, there are times that we need to have courage to stand up for those in need. The verse for today inspires us to be courageous by knowing that God is with you and no weapon formed against you will prevail that He does not allow.

Verse for today: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 NIV

Today's Prayer

I am strong and have a brave heart through Jesus. Heavenly Father, I appreciate Your words of life that inspire me to be strong and courageous when I face hardships at home or work. Rid me of all negativity, doubt, and pessimism. Make me a brave warrior for my Lord Jesus that stands up for the helpless; conveys hope to the powerless; and lifts up the fallen. In Jesus' name I pray.
