But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water. Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. Mark 4:37-39 NLT

Prayer to remain calm in the storms of life by trusting in JESUS

I praise You Lord Jesus for being with me when I encounter moments of desperation.  Thank You for helping me prevail through the storms of illness, disappointment, loneliness, financial problems, and insecurity. Holy Spirit, help me to remain hopeful in the storm by calling on Jesus who has the power to quiet the raging seas. Lead me to someone today who is drowning in waves of despair. Use me to help point them to Jesus who can give them great peace which transcends all understanding. In Jesus' name.
