Just then one of the Elders addressed me: “Who are these dressed in white robes, and where did they come from?” Taken aback, I said, “O Sir, I have no idea—but you must know.” Then he told me, “These are those who come from the great tribulation, and they’ve washed their robes, scrubbed them clean in the blood of the Lamb. That’s why they’re standing before God’s Throne. They serve him day and night in his Temple. The One on the Throne will pitch his tent there for them: no more hunger, no more thirst, no more scorching heat. The Lamb on the Throne will shepherd them, will lead them to spring waters of Life. And God will wipe every last tear from their eyes. Revelation 7:13-17 MSG
POEM: "JESUS THE GOOD SHEPHERD" by Bettina Van Vaerenbergh
We people are a lot like sheep, we're not all that bright;
We very easily get lost in life, without Jesus as our guide.
Christ is the Good Shepherd, who gives His life for the sheep;
He willingly laid it down for all of us, His love is so deep!
Jesus knows who are His, and His own, they know Him too;
Jesus is the Door, the saved of all the ages go through.
He came so we might have Life, and have it in abundance;
By entering in through Jesus, we find pastures sumptuous.
His own Jesus calls by name; He shows them God's way -
They hear the Shepherd's voice; and they follow, and obey.
A stranger they'll not follow, from a stranger they will flee;
They hear only Jesus' voice, He is the only one they see.
Jesus is the Good Shepherd because He was sent from God;
He is the owner of the sheep, and that matters, a whole lot!
A hireling, when the wolf attacks, will leave the sheep alone;
He doesn't really care for them, as they are not his own.
There's always thieves, and robbers, and deceivers galore;
Listen people, don't go after them, or you will be sorry sore!
The thief comes only to steal, and to destroy, and to kill -
Not so Jesus, He came to do His heavenly Father's perfect will.
The Savior came to give His life, for us on the cross to be slain;
He came to lay it down, so He might take it back again.
Jesus knows who are His, and of His own Jesus is known -
They see the cross, just how great a love their Lord has shown.
Believers are perfectly safe in Christ, they will never perish;
He gives them eternal life, a promise we can trust and cherish.
Nothing, or no one, can pluck us out of the Father's hand -
God says so in His Word, and God's Word forever will stand
Praise & Prayer
I praise You, Lord Jesus, for being my Shepherd. I lack nothing because You provide all that I need. You make me lie down in green pastures where I rest in peace. You lead me beside still waters where my soul is refreshed. You restore my soul when I feel weak and worn. You lead me in paths of righteousness for Your name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod of correction and Your staff of compassion comfort me. Please use me this day Holy Spirit to help point a lost, sad, and weary sheep to our Good Shepherd. I pray for their salvation in the mighty name of Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!
