PATIENT: The Lord is patient with you - 2 Peter 3:9

Dear friends, don't ignore this fact: One day with the Lord is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day. The Lord isn't slow to do what He promised, as some people think. Rather, He is patient for your sake. He doesn't want to destroy anyone but wants all people to have an opportunity to turn to Him and change the way they think and act. 2 Peter 3:8-9

ETERNAL TRUTH:

• "Or do you think lightly of the riches of the Lord's kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?" Romans 2:4
• "Do you think that I like to see wicked people die? says the Sovereign LORD. Of course not! I want them to turn from their wicked ways and live. Ezekiel 18:23
• "This [kind of praying] is good and acceptable and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge and recognition of the truth." 1 Timothy 2:3-4

Praise & Prayer:

I praise You, Heavenly Father, for Your great patience and undeserved kindness toward me, especially when I have blown it or disappointed You. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for revealing to the world that God is love and patient, not wanting that any should perish. My heart is full of gratitude for never giving up on me. Holy Spirit, please guide someone across my path today who thinks God is out to destroy them. Grant me an opportunity to share this promise of God's patience and kindness, epitomized to us through Christ Jesus our Savior. I ask in Jesus' mighty name.
