While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came down on all those who were listening to his speech. The Jewish believers who came with Peter were amazed that the Holy Spirit had been poured out as a gift also to people who were not Jews. They heard them speaking different languages and praising God. Then Peter said, “How can anyone object to these people being baptized in water? They have received the Holy Spirit the same as we did!” So Peter told them to baptize Cornelius and his relatives and friends in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked Peter to stay with them for a few days. Acts 10:44-48 ERV
Quote: "The work of the Holy Spirit is to testify that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, to guide you into all truth, to teach you all things, to empower you as a Christian, to advocate for you before the Father, to comfort you in times of sorrow, to be your personal helper, and to convict you when you sin against God."
Praise & Prayer for the Holy Spirit to Empower Me
I praise You, Lord Jesus, for sending the Holy Spirit to be my Gude, Teacher, Helper, Power, Advocate, Comforter, Helper, and Convictor while I am on earth. Holy Spirit, please empower me this day to serve Christ by being a faithful witness of my Savior to someone who feels like an outcast and unworthy of God's acceptance. Lord Jesus, please bless them with the gift of the Holy Spirit as we pray and stir their heart to be baptized as a sign of their commitment to follow You. Hosanna [save now], in Your mighty name!
