“Up to the time of Samuel the prophet, God provided judges to lead them. But then they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul, son of Kish, out of the tribe of Benjamin. After Saul had ruled for forty years, God removed him from office and put King David in his place, with this commendation: ‘I’ve searched the land and found this David, son of Jesse. He’s a man whose heart beats to My heart, a man who will do what I tell him.’ Acts 13:20-22 MSG
POEM: "A HEART FOR GOD" by Deborah Ann Belka.
A heart that is peaceful,
knows in God it can trust
it knows believing this
is a daily must.
A heart that is satisfied,
knows God is always there
it knows it can give Him
it's every worry and care.
A heart that is content,
knows God is good
it knows He will do
just what He should.
A heart that is committed,
knows God always leads
it knows He will supply
all of its wants and needs.
A heart that is devoted,
knows God loves its praise
it knows He is faithful
and follows all of His ways.
A heart that is for God,
can never go wrong . . .
for the heart that loves Him
is steadfast and strong!
Praise & Prayer
Abba Father, I praise You for Your heart of love and mercy. I long to have a heart after Your heart like David and my Lord Jesus, that loves doing what pleases You and hates doing what is wrong in Your eyes. Holy Spirit, please help me this day to grow in having a heart that beats after God's own heart. Deliver me from having a deceitful heart that is phony or insincere. I pray in the mighty name of Jesus my Savior.
March through books of the Bible and meditate on the promise, prayer, and song of the day to help strengthen your faith and personal relationship with Jesus Christ, our Savior. Loving people with compassionate care and pointing them to "Christ, the Way, the Truth, & the Life" is how you will be a soul winner and bring glory to God.
