For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. Philippians 3:18-20 NIV
I praise You, Loving Father, for sending Your beloved Son, Christ Jesus, to rescue me from the dominion of darkness. Through Christ, I have salvation, redemption, forgiveness of sins, and hope of eternal life in Your Eternal Kingdom. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for loving sinners like me and making me a citizen of heaven. Holy Spirit, please guide me to someone today who feels unworthy to be a citizen of heaven. Help me explain this verse so the eyes of their heart are open to receive the free gifts of salvation and heavenly citizenship through faith in our Redeemer. In the holy name of Jesus, I pray.
This world is not my home, I’m just a-passing through,
My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue;
The angels beckon me from heaven’s open door,
And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore.
I have a loving Savior up in glory-land,
He’s waiting now for me in heaven’s open door,
And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore.
O Lord, You know I have no friend like You,
If heaven’s not my home, then, Lord, what will I do?
The angels beckon me from heaven’s open door,
And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore.
