So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. Exodus 23:25 NKJV
Poem: "SERVING GOD" by Edward Nickerson*
I'm up today, to greet the dawn,
And for my Lord, I still press on!
It's Sunday, I should do my best!
A time to work, yet day of rest!
Today, I'll serve my Lord once more.
Before I rest on God's heaven shore!
For no one knows the time I have,
Or if my days, some good, some bad!
If sunshine greets me this year through,
If dark clouds summon, my life too.
Today I ponder, I watch, I wait,
One day I enter through Heaven's Gate!
My goal – to serve my God! I can!
Some content, that walk on sinking sand.
Though I may slip along life's way,
My Jesus there! To make my day!
The sea of life may "crash and burn!"
Again today! To my Lord, I turn.

You wonder how I seem so sure,
I trust God's promise! His love so pure.
It's not just story, it's not just talk!
He placed my feet on solid rock!
That rock upholds my life today!
I serve Him in His trusted way!

Praise & Prayer
Loving Father, I praise You for reminding me through this scripture that the greatest honor in life is serving You. Lord Jesus, I bow in reverence to thank You for coming to save and serve those who trusted in You. I want to model Your heart of a Servant Leader who is devoted to God. Please teach me to be a beacon of Your love and grace by serving my family and people in the marketplace who have yet to experience the blessing of joy that comes by being a servant of our Heavenly Father. I am immensely grateful for the material blessings, such as food, water, shelter, health, family, and the boundless riches of salvation that God has gifted me through You. I commit my ways to You, trusting that You will use me for the glory of God. I go forth with a to serve and pray in Your mighty name, amen.
