Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend. James 2:23
Eternal Truth: "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “But the righteous shall live by faith.”
Praise & Prayer
Father of everlasting love, I want to follow in the footsteps of Abraham by believing Your word and living out my faith through obedience. I realize that You tested Abraham's faith to see if he was willing to sacrifice his only son, Isaac, on the altar. I praise You for opening my eyes and helping me understand through this incident in history how You were willing to sacrifice Your only begotten Son, Christ Jesus, on the cross to give everyone who believes in Him the hope of eternal life. I believe in Jesus and accept Him as my LORD and MESSIAH. Holy Spirit, please help me grow as a friend of God by believing in His word and being unwavering in my faith when I am tested with personal hardships. I pray in the mighty name of Christ Jesus, my Messiah!
March through books of the Bible and meditate on the verse and prayer of the day to help strengthen your faith and personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. Loving people with compassionate care and pointing them to Christ our Savior is how you will be a soul winner and bring glory of God.
