FAITH: Your faith is evident through good deeds - James 2:17

What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. James 2:14-17 NLT

Eternal Good News: "For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God, not as a result of [your] works [nor your attempts to keep the Law], so that no one will [be able to] boast or take credit in any way [for His salvation]. For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us]." Ephesians 2:8-10

Praise & Prayer
I praise You, Lord Jesus, for reminding me through this holy scripture written by James that my actions, not just words, reflect my faith in You. Fill me this day with Your heart of compassionate care to fulfill the good works that God has prepared for me to do, whether it is to feed a hungry soul or clothe a person who is destitute whom the Holy Spirit places in my path. Please raise them from their ashes and make them a new creation as I point them to You. I worship and thank You for Your amazing grace.
