SOJOURNER: You are a sojourner passing through this world - 1 Peter 2:11

Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. 1 Peter 2:11-12

HEAVENLY TRUTH:

• "If you belonged to the world, then the world would love you as its own. But I chose you from this world, and you are not of this world; that is why the world hates you." John 15:18
• "I have told you this many times before, and now I repeat it with tears: there are many whose lives make them enemies of Christ's death on the cross. They are going to end up in hell, because their god is their bodily desires. They are proud of what they should be ashamed of, and they think only of things that belong to this world. We, however, are citizens of heaven, and we eagerly wait for our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, to come from heaven." Philippians 3:18-20

Praise & Prayer:
I am a sojourner, and have been made a citizen of heaven by faith in Jesus Christ. This world is not my permanent home; I am merely passing through. I praise and thank You, Lord Jesus, for reminding us through Your living Word that You have prepared an eternal dwelling place in our Father’s house for those who love You. Teach me this day, Holy Spirit, to demonstrate that I am a citizen of heaven by abstaining from fleshly lusts and doing good deeds that glorify God among pagans I interact with in the marketplace. I pray in Jesus' mighty name.


POEM: Just Passing Through by Louise Nelson

I'm just a blink in the eye of the Holy LORD
a passenger on this train of life that I'm aboard
Only one moment in the scheme of time
only one note in the melody of life's rhythm and rhyme.

Just passing through on this journey called life
a nanosecond on the watch of the Lord Christ
on borrowed time at the behest of the Creator
just passing through, hoping to meet up with Him later.

Tomorrow is not promised to any man
live for today and hope to understand
that we are only passing through on the highway called life
praying that our souls will be resurrected like Jesus Christ.

Just passing through, a single pixel in the big picture
a shadow in the eyes of God, like it states in the Scriptures
here today and maybe gone tomorrow
my time on earth is just something borrowed.

I'm just passing through on my way to Zion
for that heavenly prize, I have kept my eyes on
just passing on through, going from day to day
just passing through, for I know I'm not here to stay.
