Today's Bible Promise - "Elect of God" 1 Pet. 1:2

Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied. 1 Peter 1:2

Prayer
I am elected by God and chosen for greatness. Father of mercy, I appreciate You choosing me to be part of Your great eternal plan in Jesus Christ. Deliver me from self-defeating thoughts that minimize the value You have placed on my life. I want to draw closer to Jesus day by day that I may make my calling and election sure. Remind me throughout the week that You have chosen me and have a perfect plan for my life. USe me for Your glory and work all things together for good because I love You. In the wonderful name of Jesus I pray

CHOSEN ONE
My heavenly Father called one day
I did not listen to His voice or what He would say
I would not ask, nor would I call
To Him who could give me all

I thought I could do it alone
I did not need to come to Him to listen
Alone I was sufficient
I had it all, or so I thought
I did not want to be put on the spot

I did not think that I had sinned
For truly I was good from within
I went along in my foolish pride
Until one day I lost my stride

And I could not rejoice in those things I had done
For no victory had I won
The treasures I had sought
Were not ones that would sustain
There was no joy, no hope or love--only pain

Today I know the truth
That truth has set me free
My heavenly Father, so loved me
He gave His only Son
That I might be His chosen one
