The Pharisees and Sadducees came to Jesus and tested him by asking him to show them a sign from heaven. He replied, “When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’ and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times. A wicked and adulterous generation looks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.” Jesus then left them and went away. Matthew 16:1-4 NIV

Prayer for today

Lord Jesus, I believe You willingly gave up Your life to save me from sin and condemnation. I believe You died, were buried, and rose from the dead after three days. I believe You are the Savior of the world who saves me from darkness and translates me into Your marvelous Kingdom of light. You are God's sign from heaven that I am loved and have the hope of eternal life. Lead me Holy Spirit to someone today who is looking for a sign that God is real. Allow me to point them to Jonah's sign, the miracle, and resurrection of Jesus. I pray for their salvation in Jesus' mighty name.
