Prayer to follow Jesus

I declare with assurance O LORD, that You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Help me Holy Spirit to be single-minded by forgetting the things that are behind and reaching out for the things that are ahead. Give me a spirit of perseverance to not quit when the race of life gets tough. Remind me that sacrificing my life to follow Jesus supersedes everything that this world has to offer me. Guide believers across my path today who have left everything to follow Jesus and feel discouraged. Use me to give them renewed hope by reminding them that we will get it all back a hundred times over when we enter eternity with Jesus. Hallelujah to Christ our Savior!
