“But something happened to me on my way to Damascus. It was about noon when I came close to Damascus. Suddenly a bright light from heaven shined all around me. I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’ “I asked, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ The voice said, ‘I Am Jesus from Nazareth, the one you are persecuting.’ The men who were with me did not understand the voice, but they saw the light. Acts 22:6-8 ERV
Meaning of Damascus: "The Beginning Of Salvation; Full Turn In The Pattern Of Salvation."
The LORD is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? I praise You, Lord Jesus, for shining Your light of life upon me. No longer am I trapped in the dark cave of hopelessness where the devil kept me as a prisoner with chains of desperation. You are the Light of the world who defeated the evil one at the cross of Calvary. To You, the darkest night is brighter than the noonday. Holy Spirit, please guide me to someone who feels lost in darkness and lives under the influence of the devil. Just like Saul, I ask that you give them a Damascus experience and reveal your light to them. Through my kindness, I hope to help them open their hearts to see that Jesus is The Way to Salvation. I praise your holy name. Hallelujah!
