ATONEMENT: The blood makes atonement for your sin - Exodus 30:10

“Once a year Aaron must make a special sacrifice. He will use the blood of the sin offering to erase the sins of the people. He will do this at the horns of this altar. This day will be called the Day of Atonement, and it will be a very special day for the Lord.” Exodus 30:10 ERV

Meaning of atonement in the Old Testament: "In the Old Testament, the concept of atonement is intricately woven into the fabric of ancient Hebrew sacrificial practices and rituals. Atonement, in this context, signifies the process of reconciliation between humanity and God, addressing the inherent separation caused by sin. The Hebrew term for atonement, "kippur," conveys the idea of covering, cleansing, and reconciliation, encapsulating the essence of this profound concept."

Truth: "In Him [Christ] we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace." Ephesians 1:7; "You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin." 1 John 3:5; "For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit." 1 Peter 3:18; The next day John saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world." John 1:29

Praise & Prayer

Loving and merciful, Father, I want to express my profound gratitude for the Day of Atonement that was perfectly fulfilled and accomplished once and for all for me and all believers by the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus at the cross of Calvary. I worship and praise You, Lord Jesus, for Your precious blood that covers my sin, cleanses me from all guilt, and reconciles me with our Heavenly Father. What an amazing atonement and special day for the LORD our God, who is deserving of all worship, honor, glory, majesty, and praise for all eternity. Hallelujah and Amen!
