Take the old prophets as your mentors. They put up with anything, went through everything, and never once quit, all the time honoring God. What a gift life is to those who stay the course! You’ve heard, of course, of Job’s staying power, and you know how God brought it all together for him at the end. That’s because God cares, cares right down to the last detail. James 5:10-11 MSG
Gospel Truth: "For I consider [from the standpoint of faith] that the sufferings of the present life are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us!" Romans 8:18; "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off every encumbrance and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with endurance the race set out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." Hebrews 12:1-3.
Praise & Prayers
I praise You, Eternal Father, for my mentors, Your faithful prophets, fellow followers of Christ, and righteous individuals like Job, who endured significant losses and physical ailments while remaining steadfast until the end of their lives. I will continue to believe with all my heart that You care for me, no matter the temporary sufferings or hardships You allow me to face. Lord Jesus, I can never thank You enough for Your unwavering love and strength to endure the cruel and torturous death on the cross to atone for my sins. You demonstrated to the world that God loves us and desires that no one perishes if they believe in You. Holy Spirit, please guide someone across my path today who is in crisis. Use my friendship as a reminder of God's care and reignite their faith as we pray for help in Jesus' powerful name. AMEN.
